My ASU

My ASU is an information portal for students, faculty, and staff so that they can access resources needed on a regular basis. The website is arranged into three major areas:

Under the My Info tab we have:

Faculty/Employee Info

A separate tab titled the My Stuff tab offers a wide range of information as well.

Uploading Your Personal Webpage

1.    Go to http://asu.edu/selfsub
a.    Subscribe to “General Computing UNIX Cluster (general.asu.edu)”
b.    Subscribe to “AFS Fileservice (network file space)”
c.    Subscribe to “Personal Webpage Hosting”
2.    Open up SFTP (Secure File Transfer Client)
a.    (If your computer doesn’t have SFTP installed go to http://asu.edu/asusoftware) and download it. It is located under SSH on the software download site.

My Files FAQs

My Files is a secure network space and therefore asks for your password a second time to ensure that you are the person accessing your files.

Naming Conventions for My Files

When naming files you are saving in My Files there are a few important things to remember:

Save and Manage Files in My Files


Access My Files in My Tools found in the left hand menu of the My ASU page.

There are two locations where you can save documents in My Files.
 

Delete a File or Folder in My Files

When using My Files you can delete files by checking the box to the right of your file under the delete heading and clicking the delete box which will appear to the right of the check box.

Create a Folder in My Files

When using My Files you can create folders to keep your documents organized.

Upload Personal Files to My Files

When using My Files you can access personal files located on your hard drive, a flash drive, CD, etc. by clicking on the Browse button next to the Upload File Box.
