Last Updated:  7/25/12 3:45:51 PM 8373-8193-7035

To move personal user content from Hyperion 9 to Hyperion 11, follow these steps*:
*(watch a video demonstrating these steps)

  1. Log on to Hyperion 9 through using ASU's Single Sign-On.
  2. Navigate to your personal user folder and select the file to be moved.
  3. You will need to review the file's connections (OCE) before moving it which is found in the file's properties.
  4. To access the file's properties, first select the report and then click on File > Properties from the Hyperion menu.

  5. To review the connection (OCEs):
Click on the Interactive Reporting settings option. Make note of the connections listed in the Query/DataModel Name Connection and its related query section.

Keep in mind that some files will have multiple query sections with possibly different OCEs.
Click Cancel to return to the Explore workspace.
  6. Back at the Explore workspace, open the selected report by double clicking on it.
  7. Once opened, from the main menu, select File > Save As...

  8. Save the file onto your computer's local desktop (or any alternate location). Make sure to remember the location, because you will need to retrieve this file in future steps.
Note: If you are using MyApps, you will need to save the reports into the "My Files (S:)" directory. When you log into Hy11 via MyApps, you will have access to that same "My Files (S:)" directory to which you saved the report.

  9. Sign into Hyperion 11.x through
  10. In Hyperion 11, navigate to and select your personal user folder.
  11. Once your folder is selected, click on File > Import > File from the Hyperion main menu.
  12. On the Import window, under the Choose File settings, click on the Browse... button. Navigate to the location containing the file to be imported. Highlight the file and click on the Open button. Once the desired file is imported, click on Next.

  13. Under "Connection to Data Sources", click the "Connection" drop down and highlight an appropriate oce file, e.g. DW_Student.oce. A crosswalk of the connections between 9 to 11 can be found here
Note: A connection (oce)* will need to be associated with each query section contained within the imported file.

  14. Under "Apply Option to All Queries", click the drop down and select "Use Default User Name & Password". Confirm that Enable ADR option is selected and then click on Finish.

  15. Go back to into the Hyperion 9 workspace ( and browse to the original location of the file.
  16. Select the file and then click on File > Properties from the Hyperion menu.
  17. Enter 'zzz' prefix in front of the file name and click on the OK button.
  18. The 'zzz' prefix is to good way indicate that this file has been moved to Hyperion 11.
