Use My Reports via My Apps

Last Updated:  11/11/13 8:05:05 PM 8373-8193-4966

Technical

Users who have browsers and platforms on computers which are unsupported by the current version of My Reports, can access it through My Apps. This option will safely allow a user to run My Reports in a Citrix environment, and works on both a Mac and a PC.

Using My Reports from My Apps is easy, but if you have never used My Apps before, start at STEP A. If you have used and/or installed the My Apps client before for another My Apps application, you may skip STEP A and proceed to STEP B.

STEP A

  1. Install the My Apps client. To install the required My Apps client:
    a. Log in to the My Apps site, at https://myapps.asu.edu
    b. Enter 'Hyperion' in the 'Search for Software' box, and then click on the Search button.
    c. The search result of "Hyperion 11 Web IE8" should appear.
    d. Click on the Run App Now link for the desired environment.
    e. Click on Install Client when prompted. This will initiate the My Apps client installation. More information about the My Apps client installation can be found at Install a Client for My Apps.
    f. When the installation is complete, the "Running an Online App" window will return. Click Launch App.
    g. Sign in with your ASURITE id and password. Once signed in, the My Reports Explore workspace will appear.

The above steps should only be completed once per machine that is being used. After completing them, proceed to STEP B.

STEP B

If you have completed STEP A or if you have accessed an application on My Apps before, you can access My Reports from My Apps as follows:

  1. Go to the My Apps site. Sign in with your ASURITE and password.
  2. Enter 'Hyperion' in the 'Search for Software' box, and then click on the Search button.
  3. The search result of "Hyperion 11 Web IE8" should appear.
  4. Click on the Run App Now link for the desired environment.
  5. If you have successfully completed the set up steps above, the Single Sign On page will appear. Sign in using your ASURITE id and password. You should see My Reports Explore workspace load in the window.
  6. Once inside Hyperion, disable popup blocker from the Tools down drop menu.
  7. When opening the first report, be sure to allow the Active X control to install.
  8. If this is your first accessing My Reports, be sure to set your Hyperion preferences within the Hyperion workspace.
  9. In order to logoff from My Reports, close the report window and the main workspace window in the IE window that has opened. To end your My Apps session, close the browser window in which you opened My Apps.

Known issues:

  1. If you are using dual monitors, you will need to re-size the window manually to control the window size, instead of using the ‘maximize’ button.
  2. If you are using a Mac to access Hyperion from My Apps, and you wish to use keyboard shortcuts within that window, please be sure to use the Windows shortcuts, and not the Mac shortcuts. For instance, please be sure to use 'control+V' to paste, as opposed to 'command+V'.
  3. Some users may experience subsequent prompts to confirm My Reports and My Apps to a non-secure site, while showing you they are already set as trusted. Respond 'Yes' to any such prompts.
