My ASU FAQs

My ASU is an information portal for students, faculty and staff where you can quickly access resources needed on a regular basis. The Web site is arranged into four major areas. Each of the section links below will take you to a section later in this document. The most recent enhancements made to My ASU were developed from ideas and feedback from our students, faculty and staff.

My Info - Student View

If you are registered for classes, you will find them listed in the Student Info view.  Here you can register, view online courses, view your schedule, search for classes or books, see your grades and GPA and if your instructor has posted a new announcement to Blackboard. Links to popular student resources are available, such as the Libraries, Gmail, and Finances. Events, Calendars, My Programs and eAdvisor, My Tasks, and Quick Links offer important information required for students to conduct business at ASU. For example, students can check e-mail, drop a course, get advising help or read BlackBoard announcements.

The My Programs and eAdvisor box lets you see whether or not you are “on track”, who your advisor is, check in on your progress in your major and what classes you have left to take.

There is new Housing information available for students in My ASU too. Read more about that here.

Check out the new My Finances section.

My Info – Faculty/Employee View

The page is divided into main information areas titled Teaching and Student Support Tools, Faculty & Employee News, Human Resources Info, as well as several other resource links. Access to the Faculty Center is available here as well.

The My Profile tab

The My Profile tab in My ASU allows you to view and update all kinds of information about yourself.  Address and phone information, ASU Directory information, passwords, e-mail addresses – it’s all in one place.

Need to change your password? Reference your Student IDs? How about telling the world about your Research Interests, Upload your Curriculum Vitae or a picture of yourself?  It's all available in the My Profiles tab.

If you are a staff or faculty member who has multiple e-mail accounts, please visit your Computer Accounts link in the My Profiles area of My ASU to make changes to your secondary addresses.

Added Features for Faculty

Faculty will be provided with links to their Publications/Intellectual Contributions, Research Activity, Presentations, and Service in the Faculty Activity Report (FAR).

Note to Faculty: Currently the Faculty Activity Report (FAR) application is not updating the Online ASU Directory.  The information that is on the ASU Directory is information that was entered into FAR prior to the migration to the new version of the FAR application (January 7th, 2009).  With the new version of the application launched, we’re happy to announce that we are now able to focus on rebuilding the links to the ASU Directory, and plan to have these ready for your use late February, 2009.  Please visit the UTO Labs page for FAR v. 2.0 for updates on our progress by visiting http://utolabs.asu.edu/project/far-v-2.

The My Stuff Tab

The My Stuff tab allows each individual to customize the page by adding Google gadgets according to their needs.  ASU is not responsible for the content of any non-ASU gadget that a user adds to his/her My Stuff page. You can view calendars, announcements, ASU news, courses, services, Google docs, a search field, weather, and top stories through Google gadgets.  Click on the “Add stuff” link on the right side of the page to add gadgets.

Note: Some of the gadgets that are accessible via the Add stuff link are NOT ASU sponsored. Choose those gadgets responsibly with regard for your public image as a future or present ASU professional.
