Printing Questions

What do I do if I don't have any money on my Sun Card?
You can add money online by visting the sun card wesbite or you can visit one of the cash-to-card machines on campus. They are located in the Memorial Union, Computing Commons and in each of the Libraries (Hayden, Noble, Architecture, Law, and Music).

Since I'm paying for my printing, what level of quality should I expect?
We will offer print quality sufficient to submit work to a professor at ASU free of streaks, wrinkles and other blemishes.

There is a problem with my print job. Can you reimburse my Sun Card account?
No. We are unable to reimburse Sun Card accounts.

I accidentally printed the wrong file. Can you print the correct file for me?
No. Once you release a print job from your workstation, you are charged for the printing.

I want to print on paper other than that provided in the classrooms. Can I do this? What will I be charged?
We provide 20lb. stock 8.5" x 11" white paper. If you would like to print to a different size paper, transparency film or other media, please ask for assistance from computing site staff. User supplied media must be verified against the specifications of our printers to avoid damage. You will be charged the same per sheet fee as if you were using the supplied paper.
What are your site hours and where are they located?
For a complete list of office hours and locations, please visit our Computing Sites page.

Additional Information

Can a PC read a Macintosh formatted disk and vice versa?
A PC cannot read a Macintosh formatted disk, but an iMac can read a PC disk. The iMacs can also format a disk in PC format, which will be useable on both platforms. You will see a few extra files on the disk after you use a PC disk on an iMac. iMacs must write certain files to your disk in order to display the proper icons on the Desktop. You can safely delete these files at a later date if necessary.
What to do if your iMac freezes?

  • Hold down the power button for five seconds. This will shut down the iMac
  • Press the power button again to start up the iMac

Note: Hopefully you have backed up your work because when you restart the computer your unsaved work will be lost.
